Maseh Zarif is the Director of External Relations at the Institute for the Study of War (ISW). He joined ISW from the U.S. House of Representatives, where he advised the chairman of the House Homeland Security Committee on a range of national security and foreign policy issues. Prior to his service in government, he was the deputy director of the Critical Threats Project at the American Enterprise Institute. He has written on U.S. national security issues for The Wall Street Journal, The Weekly Standard website, National Review Online, and FoxNews.com. He began his career as a financial analyst and consultant in the information technology industry. He earned a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Finance from James Madison University and a Master of Arts degree in Liberal Studies, with a concentration in International Affairs, from Georgetown University.
