Maseh Zarif is the Director of External Relations at the Institute for the Study of War (ISW). He oversees ISW's research outreach and policy communications to audiences in both the public and private sectors. He joined ISW from the U.S. House of Representatives, where he advised the chairman of the Homeland Security Committee on a range of national security and foreign policy issues. Prior to his service in government, he was the deputy director of the Critical Threats Project at the American Enterprise Institute, where he helped manage a team of analysts and conducted research on threats to American interests emanating from the Middle East. He has written for The Wall Street Journal, The Weekly Standard website, National Review Online, and FoxNews.com. He began his professional career as a financial analyst and consultant in the information technology industry. He earned a M.A. in Liberal Studies with a concentration in International Affairs from Georgetown University and a B.B.A. in Finance from James Madison University.
