Operation Glad Tidings of Benevolence was an Iraq operation carried out in tandem with Coalition forces' Operation Iron Pursuit.  It focused on insurgents, namely Al-Qaeda in Iraq, in rural areas of Diyala province.  The operation also targeted criminal elements.  As a secondary goal, the operation was designed to allay the fears of residents of Diyala province regarding the dangers posed to them by insurgents.
