About this product line

The Russian Force Generation and Technological Adaptations Update provides a running intelligence estimate of how Russia is adapting to battlefield realities in Ukraine and the consequences for European defense and the future of war. Each weekly update tracks Russian recruitment efforts, force generation, force reconstitution, force restructuring, and technological adaptations. The update includes supporting maps and geospatial intelligence products produced by ISW’s Geospatial Intelligence Team.

This product line supports ISW’s Contemporary & Future of War Project which analyzes how the war in Ukraine is transforming the character of war in ways that will affect all future wars.

ISW launched this product line in April 2024. Insights into Russian force generation and technological adaptation in Ukraine before April 2024 can be found in the Russian Offensive Campaign Update product line or in the ISW Research Library.
